A dance programme for children with different abilities, the Creative Movement Programme can be used to access and inform a wide range of key learning areas such as Cognitive (improve communication and promote expression), Physical (gain muscular and bodily strength, coordination, sense of rhythm and awareness) and Emotional (build trust and confidence).
The objectives of the programmme are to embrace differences, cultivate creativity and imagination and promote self-discovery. Students will learn to create, perform and appreciate dance.
About the Artist
Wong Wai Yee has been working over 20 years as an independent performer, choreographer and dance educator. She established herself as a professional dancer for over 10 years with The Arts Fission Company (TAFC), of which she is also a founding member.
Wai Yee has accumulated her teaching experience with children in promoting psychodynamics between emotions, thoughts and movement in the creation and learning about the art of dance. In 2013, she completed a Specialist Diploma in Arts Education by NIE and the “Working and Facilitating the Learning of Children with Special Needs in the Arts” course by Social Service Institute and National Arts Council.
