A special programme designed to teach students how to sing using proper singing techniques. The programme will be made fun with the use of music games to help bring out the students’ singing voices.
Children will get into a routine of fun vocal warm up exercises and will also learn songs in a variety of styles aimed towards public performances.
About the Artist
Irene Jansen started vocal teaching as a choir mistress and personal vocal coach since 2008. She started focusing on developing singing voices for students in Special Education schools since early 2016 and was privileged to conduct the 100-strong combined Special Education schools choir at the MOE-SPED Conference in 2016.
Irene also brought together Extra•Ordinary Singers, comprising a remarkable group of 120 students across 10 Special Education schools. The combined choir was the only non-professional performing group at the True Colours Music Festival held in Singapore from 23 to 25 March 2018, showcasing talented artists of different abilities. Extra•Ordinary Singers had the honour to be invited to perform at the Istana by President Halimah Yacob in August 2018.
One Heart One Voice, a group founded by Irene, is a diverse group of talented singers and dancers who perform regularly and conduct vocal/dance workshops.
